We did a 3-hour snowmobile tour in the evening from 20-23h and it was great fun. The night was too cloudy to see northern lights but we knew this beforehand... read more and it was still a great experience. We drove into the snowy forest and stopped by at a cottage to warm up, drink juice and eat some corn (or sausages for those who want). Going in the night is quite magical and there was no one else around as I think in the day time the area is also used for husky and reindeer trails. Snowmobiling was easy to learn and my mother could sit behind me as she didn't want to drive herself.
We were picked up and dropped off from our guesthouse in the city so transport was very easy.

  What a fantastic way to spend the day! We did this as a family of 4 (2 adults, children ages 12 and 9). We got 2 snowmobiles and... read more did 1 adult and 1 child on each one (to ride on the back, though, the child must be able to reach their feet to the bottom rail as a safety precaution). We started right in Santa's Village and after gearing up in nice warm overalls and a talk about safety and how to drive the snowmobiles, we were off! We followed the guide through the forest (pretty views all around) for maybe 45 minutes to an hour until we reached a lake. Once at the lake, we hopped off the snowmobiles and drilled some holes in the ice to go fishing. The guide showed us how to do it and then let us try drilling the holes. Then he baited the poles and let us fish for awhile. We didn't expect to catch anything, but my son caught 1 fish, I caught 2, and my daughter caught 3! One was even big enough to eat and the guide cleaned it and we cooked it over a fire and ate it right out on the lake! We also grilled some sausages on the fire and drank some hot berry juice. After we were done fishing, we hopped back on the snowmobiles and drove back to Santa's Village. The snowmobiles were so much fun to ride around on! Everyone really had a great time! Would definitely recommend this to anyone!

Not only is it a crazy, fun, memorable experience but it is also an incredible way to discover Finish nature.

Even though we didn't see the Northern lights we learnt how to look for them in the future. Would recommend this trip !
